This poster was created as part of my participation in Northeastern’s Dialogue of Civilizations program, Graphic Design + Typography 2, held in Basel, Switzerland. The project challenged me to design a poster that systematically and clearly presented over 50 typographic terms, while maintaining an overarching aesthetic and theme.

Concept Development & Execution

After considering various themes for the poster, I chose to focus on film photography. I incorporated photos I personally captured and developed, using film photography terms such as aperture, ISO, and negative to describe typographic elements.

I experimented with different ways to arrange the photos and ultimately drew inspiration from the concept of “negatives” in film. This approach led me to use layer masks to transform negative images into positive ones, visually and conceptually reinforcing the theme.
